One year old!

Tuesday, July 24 was my one year appointment post bone marrow transplant with my doctor at Cleveland Clinic. We got wonderful news! All of my blood counts are within normal limits and there is no sign of a return of the leukemia. We were elated. So now, they will start tapering me off all the medications I am on and watch closely for signs of graft vs host. One year ago I never dreamed I would have the kind of day I had on Tuesday and Wednesday. Tuesday evening, we went to Legacy Village with son, Kyle and his wife, Erika and their two children to Brio for dinner. We had a delightful time and I had the most delicious steak! (One year ago I could barely keep water down!) We spent the night with them and then on Wednesday, Libby and I spent the day at Mario's Spa in Aurora. We got the works! We even had a champagne lunch! I felt like a Queen! Again, one year ago, I could never have imagined this! That evening, Kyle and I took Libby and Joe to dinner at Mallorca's in the downtown warehouse district. It was absolutely lovely. How can we ever repay her for my life? I feel so blessed. I have so many people still praying for my recovery and I am do thankful for each and every one of you. You were the angels who carried me when I could not walk and I am grateful beyond words. The picture above was taken in our soon to be new home. We are toasting our life, our home , our family, our friends and our many blessings. Marcie went with us and took the picture. We are looking forward to our new life thanks to the grace of God. I believe I have a purpose to help others going through this process.

    Hi Bella!!!!
Happy, happy BIRTHDAY! YES YOU DID! So much happiness and things to be thankful for. I still marvel about your fight to live and what you have taught us all. What an inspiration you have been to me. Kyle told me about your friend, That's NOT you. You received wonderful news from the doc and they are weaning you off the meds. You know as a nurse, that wouldn't be happening if they were the tiniest bit worried. You keep living like you said you were going to and enjoy your family and each day as it comes to all of us. How exciting to building your new home, this really is a brand new life for you. The next time to get on a rollercoaster, will to at Cedar Point. Don't dwell on it, Cindy. This is YOUR life and a whole new adventure for all of us to share with you. If you need any decorating help, I'd love to help but from the looks of your home now, you don't need any. I love ya, Bella!
