Hope Lodge

[KD posting]

Mom is at the Hope Lodge now and will be going to the Clinic for appointments every few days. She has been pretty nauseous and had to get an IV yesterday because she was dehydrated. They have computers there, but they are down today. She wanted me to post to let you all know she is doing ok. She will be back on soon.

Thank you for posting, KD. I have ben worried about your mom, since she hadn't posted in a few days. Bella, if the puters are up and you're reading this, dust off the gloves and put em on one more time. Don't let down! Get the memory album out and sort through your favorite pics. You know this nausea is going to be over-one day, one hour....whatever it takes, just do it, Cindy. Marcie and I had a wonderful time yesterday. She misses you and talked about you most of the day. Come on home, kiddo, we're all waiting!!! YES I CAN!!!!!

About 20 days and out? Incredible! You're only half done. They need to put you back in the oven for a while more :) Just kidding of course but remarkable. I can't remember how long it took me to get out but it was definitely over a month. Somewhere in the middle I spiked a fever and for some reason completely lost strength in my legs for about a week. That's how I remember it anyway. I was so doped up there were ships landing on my bed and Micky Mouse hiding in my bathroom. He wouldn't let me in when I had to go so I just pissed myself in bed. Of course I didn't hear about all this until well after release. It wasn't until afterwards that I realized I didn't remember much.

All I know is that I didn't start feeling better until they let me get some fresh air. I remember my Dad pushing me in a wheelchair out to a pond near the hospital. It wasn't until then when I got my second wind and got out of there.

They didn't have a hope lodge for me but I've been to the one you're in now. Nice place. I got an apartment. It was nice with a big pond. It was May when I was there and the Canadian Geese had just given birth to little ducks. They were so funny to watch. I was amazed how fast they grew because by the time I left, they were full grown. Now every year, when I see a baby duck, I know it's early May and it were born the same time I was re-born.

    Take care - Steve Wicker
