Day 8

I thought I would get a jumpstart on the day, since I can't sleep and it feels lik the nausea is coming. I enjoyed so much the pictures that people sent me of the shower and all the prayers for me. I am so blessed. Today I enter something called NADIR(all of my girls from FRMC school of nursing will remember this). It is the period of time when the chemo has killed all of the blood cells in the body and the patient is very susceptible to infection. So I have to be very careful to discinfect everything I come in contact with, and I have to rinse my mouth 6 times a day with this stuff that tastes bad, to keep from getting mouth sores. So, in your prayers tonight please ask that I don't get any infections this week as that may delay my discharge date. I just want to go home. Thanks again to all of you who have been praying for me, I don't know what I would do without all of you support. Your posts give me inspiration and courage.

Good morning, I wanted to call this morning but since you are feeling nauseous I thought I'd just write. If you need me to bring anything up for you tonight please let me know. These next 2 weeks are crucial and we'll do all we can to keep you infection free as well. Kade and I talked about you on our ride home from Sandusky last night. He misses his Nana, but once you are home and safe from infection he'll give you all the hugs and kisses that have been sent from long distance the past few weeks. Get some rest and remember that we are here to give you strength, love, and support.
    Love always,
    Erika

    Hey Cindy!
Just got home from school and you're blog is the first thing I do after taking my shoes off. Those rosaries are coming your way tomorrow. We'll try to get them in again on Thursday and Friday. Nothing is more powerful than the prayers of children. You're going to get a clean bill of health and be home before you know it. Remember, you're almost to the end of that tunnel and the light is peeking through. Stay healthy this week and away from germs. Tough to do in a hospital, LOL. No more kisses from Kyle. xox

“Have courage sister, do not stumble, though thy path may be dark as night: There is always a star to guide thee. Trust in God, and keep the strength within you ever so steady. Though the road may be dark and dreary and its path ever so rough, face it bravely, strong or weary. Lean on your friends, and find continued strength through all those who love you. For they are many, and they stand beside you and will never leave you side”
