Cindy Lou: First Blog Post
Cindy Lou: First Blog Post
I am starting this blog to keep you all updated as I begin the frightening journey into the world of my experiences with cancer. My son set me up on this blog. He is so talented and I am so very proud of him. Thank you Kyle.
This whole experience began with a routine blood test back in September 2005. The next day my doctor called and said there was a problem with my white count and I needed to get a repeat CBC done. So I did and it was still low, so I was sent to a hemotologist. Dr Fanning in Sandusky. Dr Fanning diagnosed Epstein-Barr virus and monitored my bloodwork for 6 months. In March 2006, my red blood cell count began to drop also, so I was scheduled for a bone marrow biopsy onApril 10. On April 19 I was diagnosed withMyelodysplastic Syndrome and told I could not be treated here. I was sent to Cleveland Clinic Cancer Center. Yesterday, April 26th, Kyle and I made the trip there to meet Dr. Sekeres, who will be my oncologist. The news he gave was devastating to both of us. The myelodysplastic disease had progressed to acute myeloid leukemia and I would have to be admitted to the clinic immediately. I begged for more time and so I will be admitted on Monday May 1. Our son, Zac is being married in Punta Cana on June 13 and I really would have rather waited till after the wedding, but Dr. Sekeres said that is not an option. So he promised me he would get me to the wedding, albeit minus hair. So as I enter this very unfamiliar world, Pleas keep Kyle and I in your prayers. I think I will need many. Love, Cindy

mom, you know that we all love you and you say you are sorry for putting us through this. That is you being so unselfish. Our pain is to see you so scared and the thought of you being so ill. We are in this together and I have put you some emotional strains these past few years with me being ill. TOGETHER we will get through this every step of the way know that we are here. You have a lot to live for that alone will pull you through. As this blog grows you will see more and more reasons that you are not done here. You have many people pulling for you. We love you with all of our heart.
Love,
Jess

Hi Cindy,
Our family was so saddened to hear of your illness. We want you, and your family, to know that we are here for you, day or night. If any of you need anything, call us and we'll be there. If it's meals, babysitting, transportation, a shoulder to cry on, whatever..... we're here. You must remain positive, Cindy, even on the worst of days. Fight! You have an awful lot of people that love you.

Hi Aunt Cindy, I'm probably one of the last ones you expected to hear from, but my dad sent the link to me and I figured I'd post a few lines. You've been entering my mind on a daily basis, sometimes several times a day....just hoping and praying. David and I have also been praying about your situation during our evening prayers together. You are a resilient woman who I know can defeat this. Uncle Kyle, we haven't forgotten about you either! Although we do not see or speak to you often please know that you have never or with ever leave our thoughts.
"Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go." Joshua 1:9
